{"id":738,"date":"2025-07-07T11:00:26","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T11:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carbonpricidev.wpenginepowered.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=738"},"modified":"2025-07-07T11:02:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T11:02:25","slug":"dominican-republic-advances-design-of-pilot-emissions-trading-system","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/carbonpricingamericas.org\/es\/news\/dominican-republic-advances-design-of-pilot-emissions-trading-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Dominican Republic Advances Design of Pilot Emissions Trading System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/unfccc.int\/news\/dominican-republic-advances-design-of-pilot-emissions-trading-system\">Visit UNFCCC website for the full article\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UN Climate Change News, 3 July 2025\u00a0\u2013 As part of broader efforts to strengthen ambitious climate action in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic has made significant progress on the technical design of a pilot Emissions Trading System (ETS), with support from UN Climate Change&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unfccc.int\/RCCCaribbean\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Regional Collaboration Centre (RCC) Caribbean<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This milestone positions the country as a regional leader in developing carbon pricing instruments aligned with the goals of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unfccc.int\/process-and-meetings\/the-paris-agreement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paris Agreement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The technical design report is part of the Collaborative Instruments for Ambitious Climate Action (<a href=\"https:\/\/unfccc.int\/about-us\/regional-collaboration-centres\/the-collaborative-instruments-for-ambitious-climate-action-ciaca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CiACA<\/a>) initiative, led by UN Climate Change and funded by the Government of Germany.
